Taiwan elections are always raucous affairs, typical of young democracies. The DPP planned a big island-wide rally for March 16, one week before the election. The SO's family was more politically active and mobilized the entire troop for the event, including Mom and I. We ended up going to the election rally in Hsinchu for support since we figured they'll have plenty of manpower in Taipei.
It didn't turn out to help much with the final result, but it was a nice day out with the family, anyway.
